SFIA - TERMINAL ONE COMPLEX REDEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

FCA in collaboration with HNTB provided Architectural and Engineering services for the Terminal One Complex Redevelopment Program of the San Francisco International Airport for the City and County of San Francisco. Services included the development of an existing conditions report, space program, phasing analysis report and conceptual design drawings with alternatives.

The conceptual design addressed the many challenges associated with modern airports, such as integration with the air traffic control tower, boarding area entrance, aircraft parking, airfield civil work, passenger processing, concessions, baggage handling, sustainability, security, telecommunications and support facilities. The design was focused on meeting SFIA’s growing passenger demand and the need to provide flexibility in passenger boarding. This was accomplished by connecting Terminal 1 with the International Terminal using secure and sterile corridors allowing both domestic and international flights to originate and terminate from either Terminal.
