Designer sought by Fong & Chan Architects, Inc. in San Francisco, CA
Under supervision of a licensed architect, work with team of architects to develop architectural/interior design of healthcare, office, commercial, and institutional projects from conceptual phase to completion of construction; assist in project programming, planning, project design; engage in discussions with Project Manager to determine functional/spatial requirements of projects; design architectural spaces, detail drafting, renderings, presentations; map/survey buildings; produce scaled sketches: floorplans/room layouts; perform 2D/3D modeling/visualization/animation; build physical models (3D print, CNC machine); use software [Revit, Rhinoceras, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Lumion] to prepare/develop presentation materials (site plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, renderings, animations); use visual aids to convey ideas of design for client approvals; use Revit to create 3D architectural model/3D interior models; prepare design development drawings/outline specifications; attend/participate in project team meetings to present project progress; engage in discussion with team members to resolve design issues; prepare background drawings for engineering consultants; coordinate with other engineering disciplines; conduct research/analyze building codes (California Building Codes, Title 24, International Building Codes, ADA, and other relevant codes) to ensure project compliance; conduct research on architectural materials, finishes, furnishings; develop construction documents specifications/drawings in Revit and AutoCAD for building permit submittal/bidding; provide construction administration services; and prepare as-build/ record drawings to close out projects.
Job Requirements: Master of Architecture degree or foreign equivalent plus 1 year experience to include designing architectural spaces, detail drafting, renderings, presentations, mapping/surveying buildings; producing scaled sketches: floorplans/room layouts; performing 2D/3D modeling/visualization/animation; building physical models (3D print, CNC machine); using software [Revit, Rhinoceras, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Lumion]; and utilizing International Building Codes and ADA for projects.
